On Tuesday, May 2nd the iHeartCommunity Fund donated over $32,000 to various projects in the Oxford County area at a ceremony held in Thamesford. The Fund is distributed by Heartland Farm Mutual, as part of their tradition of giving back to the communities they serve. More than 90 applications for funding were submitted by Heartland agents, brokers and employees, each acting as local advocates for projects and causes close to their heart. The Fund committee selected a total of 38 projects from across Ontario, focusing on rural programs, agriculture, safety, community enrichment and wellbeing. A cheque presentation ceremony was also held on May 4th at Heartland’s Waterloo office where staff and local Fund recipients shared the stories of their special causes. The iHeartCommunity Fund donation will continue throughout May and June at individual presentations to the remaining recipients across the province.
