Ingersoll, ON, April 5, 2016– The students at Laurie Hawkins PS will be benefiting from a very generous donation from Tremblett’s Independent Grocer. On Monday, April 4, 2016, Rob Tremblett, franchise owner of Trembeltts Independent Grocer, handed over a cheque for $845 to the Laurie Hawkins Parent Council.
This money was collected during the month of March through an in-store fundraiser. All parents had to do was to let the cashier know that they had a child at Laurie Hawkins PS and then 5% from their total bill was donated back to the school. This fundraiser is just one of the many new ways that Rob and Jessi are continuing to support this community.
“We are very appreciative of all the support that the town of Ingersoll has shown us over the past two years and we would like to give back and support the community as much as we can.” Rob Tremblett, Franchise owner of Tremblett’s Independent Grocer.
It is Rob and Jessi’s hope that they will be able to extend this program to all of the schools in Ingersoll over the coming months. The parent council is very grateful for this donation and they will be using it towards a few upcoming expenses for the students. The parent council committee is also thankful for the previous donations of hot dogs and buns that were donated to the school for a fundraiser for the snack program.
"A HUGE thank you to Tremblett's Independent for generously donating a portion of sales back to Laurie Hawkins Parent Council! This donation will be used towards many initiatives that council is pursuing to enhance the school life of our students! The Independent's example of community support is wonderful and very much appreciated. Thank you!" Nancy Gregg, Co-Chair of the LHPS Parent Council.
