Introduction to Stencil Printmaking

Check out the WAG's new Printmaking Studio! In this workshop, students will be introduced to stencil printing. This is the method of transferring an image or pattern or design, by brushing, spraying or squeegeeing ink through the open areas of a design of a stencil cut from thin metal, cardboard or mylar. Discover the proper tools, techniques and have a basic understanding of the history and terminology. All materials are included in the cost of registration. Students are asked to bring in images or photographs of interest to use as reference material.

This workshop is part of IMPRINTING GENERATIONS program. A series of printmaking workshops created to introduce students to printmaking in the newly developed printshop at WAG. IMPRINTING GENERATIONS is funded by Service Canada, New Horizons for Seniors.
