Walker Environmental Group – the company that has proposed to develop a landfill in a mined quarry in Zorra - is offering tours of its Niagara campus to the public.

Tour dates are set for May 9, 12 and 26 and the company is providing free bus transportation from its Ingersoll office at 160 Carnegie St.

Participants will tour Walker's Niagara landfill as well as its compost site and gas and biosolids facilities.

The first tour on Wednesday, May 9, will leave Ingersoll at 1 p.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. The other two tours, on Saturday, May 12, and Saturday, May 26, will leave Ingersoll at 8 a.m. And return at 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

“We will probably have (more) tours in the future if we get a lot of interest,” said company spokesperson Jacqueline Elston.

Spaces are limited and anyone interested is asked to contact the company at or call 1-855-392-5537.
